Monvis is a now well-known brand for collectors around the world. Registered in Biel, Switzerland, in 1962 it has been a brand marketed mainly in the Italian territory.
The vintage diver we have for sale is an absolute candy. In fact, this diver dates back to the earliest production of Monvis, it features the typical professional diving case and look of 60s. It is powered by the famous AS 1701 caliber.
Tritium indexes, veined to pumpkin yellow, stand out against the black dial. The 38mm steel case has a screw-down back and crown, as required in professional divers.
The name "Glucydur" on the dial refers to Glucydur is the trade name of a metal alloy with a low coefficient of thermal expansion, used for making balance wheels and other parts of mechanical watches. Glucydur is a beryllium bronze; an alloy of beryllium, copper and iron. In addition to its low coefficient of thermal expansion, its hardness (400 Brinell), nonmagnetizability, and resistance to deformation and damage . Glucydur is also resistant to corrosion; it is rather inert chemically.
A true diver with a military look worthy of any respectable collection.
