The firm's history began in 1898, when a young man manufactured the first watches to bear his name or the initials ARSA (for Auguste Reymond SA). Success came quickly. Ten years later, his Manufacture had more than hundred employees, becoming one of the main employers in the Bernese Jura region.
This Arsa is a masterpiece of 1960s technology, the "Calypsomatic" case is 38mm and encases a solid ETA 2552 automatic. The case is beautifully designed and was shared amongst a few other models such as the well-know Titus Calypsomatic, Universal Geneve Polerouter Sub and the Technos Sky Diver just to name a few. As a utilitarian watch it has the practical drilled lug-holes and pointed downward bending lugs that wrap nicely over the wrist.
As in the case of the Titus, here we have what is called a "big crown" in collector's jargon and, together with the black dial with tritium markers and spheres, constitutes the quality vintage look that this professional sub has.
An iconic diver, from the golden era of professional diving, in epic condition. Coming with its vintage box.
