The relationship between Rolex and the colour green runs far deeper than a contemporary design trend. Green has long been associated with the Maison, from the distinctive colour of its crown and presentation materials to its gradual emergence as one of the most recognizable signatures across the Rolex collection.

The story becomes particularly significant with the Submariner. In 2003, Rolex marked the model’s 50th anniversary with the introduction of the Submariner Date Ref. 16610LV. Rather than simply producing another anniversary edition, Rolex introduced a green bezel to the legendary dive watch for the first time. The result was a black-dial Submariner with a green aluminium insert — immediately distinctive, and soon known among collectors as the “Kermit.”

The green Submariner evolved considerably over the following years. The 116610LV, introduced with the Cerachrom ceramic bezel, became famous as the “Hulk,” distinguished by its combination of green bezel and green dial. In 2020, Rolex returned to the more restrained and historically significant black-dial configuration with the Ref. 126610LV, pairing a black lacquered dial with a green Cerachrom bezel.

With its 41 mm Oystersteel case, redesigned proportions, and Rolex Calibre 3235, the 126610LV represents the modern continuation of the green Submariner lineage. Its approximately 70-hour power reserve, 300-metre water resistance and Glidelock-equipped Oyster bracelet make it a fully contemporary evolution of the original professional diver.

This particular example is especially compelling for its September 2026 provenance. Supplied new by an authorised Rolex dealer, it has never been sized or worn and retains the exceptionally fresh condition expected of a genuinely new example, with only the protective films having been removed.
