When Pan-Am needed a watch capable of displaying multiple time zones simultaneously, Rolex was able to provide it. Having a watch that kept accurate time was a necessity for pilots back then. However, Pan-Am pilots weren't the only ones who wore these watches. NASA and U.S. Air Force pilots, as well as business travelers, also adopted them.
Throughout history, several celebrities have been spotted wearing the Rolex GMT. Tom Selleck wore a GMT with a Pepsi bezel when he played Magnum P.I. Gonzo; author Hunter S. Thompson wore two. One indicated Havana time, the other Moscow time. Jack Swigert wore one during the Apollo 13 mission, and Ed Mitchell during the Apollo 14 lunar mission.
This Rolex GMT-Master II ref. 16710 from 2004, with its iconic Pepsi bezel (red/blue), represents a perfect blend of classic style and modern sophistication. This year marked the introduction of the case without holes, giving the watch a more elegant and contemporary look while also improving its durability. Inside, the time-tested Caliber 3185 beats, offering smooth and reliable GMT functionality with an independently adjustable 24-hour hand. This GMT II, ref. 16710, is in extraordinary condition, complete with its full set and bezel with Pepsi hand.
