Piaget have a rich history of producing some fine and beautiful watches, especially featuring handcrafted dials, which are becoming increasingly sought-after as collectors begin to finally appreciate their quality and value.
This stunning example is a Piaget Protocole ref. 9297 from the early 1970s in 18k yellow gold and features its original gold "Clous-de-Paris" dial. The watch houses the extra-flat ,famous, manual wind Piaget 9P calibre movement.
The "brick" workmanship of the bracelet, with logoed clasp,is magnificent and follows the stylistic line of the "clous-de-paris" workmanship of both the case and, indeed, the dial.
A final ornament is the blue cabochon set in the crown.
All components are solid gold and the weight of the watch, despite the superslim case, is significant.
The bracelet allows a fitting for wrists up to about 17.5cm maximum.
