The Omega Speedmaster Professional is by far one of our most favorite chronographs. The Speedmaster has an incredible history starting with automotive racing moving into flight and eventually to NASA and the U.S. Space Program.
This specific 1998 Omega Speedmaster Professional era Ref. 145.0022 remains in wonderful condition s is one of the last Tritium dial Omega Speedmasters produced by the Omega company.
The stunning tritium lume within the hands and on the dial has achieved a sought after and wonderful warm golden patina and the case and bracelet remain in superb condition.
This ref. Is moved by caliber 1861 followed in 1996, featuring rhodium-plated parts instead of the copper-plated and un-plated parts used on its predecessor, caliber 861. The 1861 movement, and its derivatives continued to power the Speedmaster until just recently.
