The Reverso changed forever when Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced the Grand Taille during the 1990s. Until then, the model had remained deeply faithful to the compact proportions of the original 1931 polo watch, elegant but often too discreet for modern tastes. The Grand Taille reference 270.8.62 marked the turning point: a larger, more contemporary interpretation that preserved every Art Deco code of the Reverso while finally giving the design real wrist presence. It became the bridge between vintage charm and modern wearability, and today many collectors still consider it the most balanced Reverso ever produced.

This 1997 Full Set example perfectly captures that transition. The white dial remains incredibly pure, framed by sharp black Arabic numerals and chemin de fer minute track, while the thermally blued flamed hands bring depth and contrast that only traditional heat treatment can achieve.
