In 1916, Heuer began its work in the field of high-precision timing with the Mikrograph, Semikrograph, and Microsplit – able to track 1/5th, 1/50th, and eventually 1/100th of a second, along with the creation of its first split-seconds pocket watches, aimed not only at sport timing but military and industrial use.
The Carrera 1153 was part of the trio of designs Heuer used to launch the Calibre 11 automatic chronograph movement in 1969. The first versions in fact mounted the cal.11 that became 12 in later seriesThe distinctive case with two pusher on the right and crown on the left has a brushed finish, 20mm lugs and domed plexi.
There are a number of steel variants of the self-winding Heuer Carrera 1153. Mick Jagger, below, is seen in a 1153 that nowadays collectors refer to as, of course, the "Mick Jagger." Jagger's been spotted wearing several Heuers throughout the 1970s.
This Carrera 1153 "1-through-12" features just a small variation from the normal "Mick Jagger" – the hour register has Arabic numerals 1 through 12, and not just the 12-3-6-9 as seen on the common Jagger.
Our "Jagger" arrives with a brown racing and its original buckle.
