Festina was created in 1902 by the Stüdi family in the city of La Chaux-de-Fonds, in Switzerland. In 1935 the founding-family transmitted the brand to businessman, Willy Burkhard von Wilhelm.
During World War II, the company was based in Barcelona, Spain.
The case is a typical professional diver's patent like Monvis and many others, which includes the helium outlet valve in the crown. The shape remember the earliest Titus Calypsomatic with the same "screwing" lugs. The dive time bezel is made of Aluminium, like the more famous Rolex Submariner, and is subdued and protected by Plexiglass that stands in a cylinder shape from the bezel level.
The dial is a classic military , glossy black, "explorer" look-a-like layout, used by the well know GUB Spezimatic Type RP TS 200 and many others. This specimen comes with a rare tessuflex bracelet.
