Eterna has a very important place in the history of watchmaking. Just to mention two facts, consider that it was Eterna that introduced the ball bearings solution that is still used today on automatic movements and that ETA, the largest manufacturer of Swiss watch movements (today part of the Swatch Group), was founded by Eterna.
This spectacular "solo tempo" has a strong and massive cass in steel, a beautiful cream dial with radium numeral hour markers. The screw-down case back protects the famous hand-wound 852, which all collectors extol as one of the best movements ever
made.
This watch is a retirement gift to a men that worked on the railways track of Gerlafingen (CH) under the company Von Roll Holding AG, a Swiss industrial group that was founded in 1803. As one of Switzerland's longest-established industrial companies, Von Roll focuses on railways industry.
