The Cartier Tank is one of the most recognizable designs in modern watchmaking. Introduced in 1917, its rectangular architecture, parallel brancards and Roman numerals have remained remarkably consistent for more than a century.

This Tank Solo ref. 3170 offers a more unusual interpretation of that unmistakable Cartier language. Produced around 2010, it combines the clean geometry of the Tank Solo with a pink dial, a configuration considerably less frequently encountered than the standard silvered or white Cartier dials.

The pink dial is the defining feature of this example. Rather than altering the character of the Tank, the soft tone gives the watch a more distinctive and contemporary personality while retaining the restrained elegance for which Cartier is known. For collectors, unusual factory dial colours are particularly interesting because they offer a degree of individuality within otherwise highly recognizable references.
