The Breguet Marine Hora Mundi Ref. 3700 belongs to a particularly interesting chapter in the modern history of Breguet. Developed during the brand’s renaissance of the 1990s and continuing into the early 2000s, the Marine collection translated Breguet’s historic relationship with maritime chronometry into a contemporary wristwatch language, while retaining the traditional codes that made the manufacture immediately recognizable.

The Ref. 3700 is one of the most distinctive expressions of that approach: a 38 mm gold wristwatch combining a classical Breguet exterior with a practical world-time complication. Rather than simply displaying a second time zone, the Hora Mundi presents the principal cities of the world around the dial, together with a 24-hour indication, allowing different time zones to be read intuitively.

Its case is particularly characteristic of the early Marine generation. The restrained 38 mm diameter is balanced by a fluted case band, stepped architecture and distinctive crown arrangement, giving the watch considerably more presence than its dimensions might suggest. In yellow gold, the architecture becomes even more expressive, with the warmth of the metal contrasting against the cool silvered guilloché dial.
